Dell Mini 5 tablet integrates with Amazon’s Kindle to challange Apple’s iPad

The Dell Mini 5 tablet computer is all set to make its presence felt in a range of colors, leaked information originally posted on Engadget claimed.

The leaked document described the Snapdragon-powered device as "Streak". The upcoming tablet will be equipped with a front-facing video camera, a dock connector and capacitive touch-screen.

ICANN to re-consider .xxx domains

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers, which decides on the availability of new web addresses, will re-consider a proposal to create an internet domain suffix for adult websites.

ICM Registry has proposed that there should be “.xxx” top-level domain for adult websites instead of “.com”.

The net’s governing body ICANN had previously agreed to .xxx suffix for the adult sites, but it protests from the conservative groups forced it to retreat.

Best Buy teams up with Panasonic to sell 3D TVs in the US

United States’ leading electronics retailer Best Buy has teamed up with Japan’s Panasonic Corp. to exclusively sell its first 3D TV home-entertainment system bundle in the US.

The bundle, which costs $2,899.99 in total, includes a 50-inch plasma 3D Viera set, a Blu-ray based disc player and viewing glasses.

The bundle was made available for purchase on Wednesday via Minneapolis-based Best Buy's Magnolia Home Theater unit.

Virgin Media to offer TiVo set-top boxes before the end of 2010

Virgin Media has confirmed that it would bring TiVo software to its set top boxes in the UK later this year.

The return of the vastly popular American digital video recorder to the UK will help Virgin in developing its next-generation set-top boxes.

Choosing video on demand services or boxed sets will become a lot easier with TiVo service. As the the two firms will try to combine online video on demand services like YouTube and BBC iPlayer with conventional programming and DVR capabilities.

Apple talks with network providers over iPad launch

Mobile phone industry experts are busy in guessing which UK mobile phone operator will become Apple’s partner for the launch of its iPad.

Apple executives are in the UK to decide which mobile phone network in the country will take on its iPad.

Some reports suggest that three big networks in the UK viz. O2, Orange and Vodafone may get a chance to launch Apple’s iPad tablet as Apple is expected to choose more than one network provider for its new device.

British players spend £195m on MMOs in 2009

Brits spent around 195 million pounds on massive multiplayer online games during last year, figures from Today's Gamers MMO Focus Report revealed.

As per the report, British players spend an average 10.50 pounds per month on MMOs. This is despite the fact that only 38 per cent of the British players pay to play MMO games, while the rest of the players opt for free online games.

Player from Germany and France spent 165 pounds and 145 pounds respectively in 2009.

LG announces Cookie Fresh GS290 smartphone

South Korea’s LS has introduced its new Cookie Fresh GS290 smartphone, featuring a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display.

The Cookie Fresh GS290, which will hit the UK stores from the start of April, will allow social networking via Myspace, Facebook and Twitter integration.

The new handset is equipped with a decent 2 mega pixel camera and comes in 10 different colors including, pink, blue, purple and silver.
