Philips Electronics Receives "Statement of Objection" from EC

Over allegations that the giant electronic gadgets manufacturer has violated the competition rules in the Cathode-Ray (CTR) industry, Philips Electronics has been slapped with a "statement of objection" by the European Commission, Europe's anti-trust regulator. Although the company has not specified the exact objection raised by the agency, it did issue a statement saying that Philips would "study the statement of objections in detail and respond accordingly".

Christened the Eee PC 1201N, the netbook, in addition to Ion, includes a dual-core Intel Atom 330 processor, and is set to offer a memory of either 2GB or 3GB, which will also contribute to increasing its performance. The system will run on the latest Windows 7 operating system.

Nintendo has no plans to slash price of Wii

Recently Microsoft and Sony slashed prices of their gaming devices Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, giving birth to speculations that their recent move will make their peers to follow suit.
