Activision has announced that they expected Sony’s PlayStation 3 would outperform Microsoft Xbox 360 in sales across Europe and North America during 2010.

As per Activision’s estimates, the PlayStation 3 will reach nine million sales, while Xbox 360 will struggle to hit eight million sales.

However, estimates also show that Wii will outsell both, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with 18 million sales by the end of running year.

Wii is also expected to outshine both the concerned consoles in install base, with 63 million installations. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are estimated to report a total of 32 million and 40 million installations by the end of 2010.
