Megaupload Founder Goes From Arrest to Cult Hero

After having earlier hinted at Vice President Joe Biden's involvement in the Megaupload case via one of his tweets, the shuttered site's founder Kim Dotcom recently informed TorrentFreak that he has insider information which reveals that Biden had ordered the Megaupload shutdown.

Despite the fact that Dotcom - who is currently facing charges of US of copyright infringement and racketeering - refrained from disclosing the identity of his unnamed source of his information, he said that it was Joe Biden who instructed US State attorney Neil MacBride to target the Megaupload. com site.

In a revelation of sorts to TorrentFreak, Dotcom said that "a credible source" has informed him that Biden - a friend of former Senator and the current MPAA head Chris Dodd - had ordered MacBride "to take Mega down."

Noting that even though the MPAA regularly gives "leads" to the authorities to facilitate criminal investigations, the size and location of Megaupload still made it an extremely difficult target, Dotcom said that the startling revelation about Biden's involvement came to light after his team researched the motivations of the US Government.

Further adding that the Megaupload probe was a `gift' to Hollywood, made possible by corrupt Government forces, Dotcom told TorrentFreak that "the whole Mega case is quite the political thriller," and added: "At the appropriate time we will release what we know."
