Side-effects of medicine made Vicky Sewart change her decision to fight cancer with her diet and not medicine. This included exercise as well in her regimen to get back to her healthy self along with special foods.
Turmeric was something that she used majorly as she says that this super spice almost makes cancer cells commit a suicide.
Turmeric was used by her in stir-fry, making curries and a range of foods that she made.
It has been four years and she cannot see cancer coming back and the 44-year-old is at the centre of a research project to study how lifestyle can be used to help other victims of the disease.
In 2008 Vicky from Plymouth, Devon, had to undergo a surgery to remove a breast and lymph node.
She had to go through radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery after a fast-growing tumour was seen in Vicky who runs the Victoria Sewart Contemporary Jewellery Gallery on the Barbican, in Plymouth.
Doctors were shocked when Vicky told them that she will keep off Tamoxifen and will eat healthy to avoid cancer from coming back.
She said, "It has been four years now and I believe absolutely enormously that my diet has assisted my recovery."
