Castlegar to have a Promotional video of its Own for Advertising Tourism

In order to promote tourism in the region, a new promotional video and smartphone application would feature the West Kootenay Regional Airport and Castlegar. The promotional events have been made to get more business and leisure tourists to the area, as the winter season is about to kick-in.

The marketing is being done by a Company known as SnowSeekers from Edmonton, which is known to encourage tourism at alpine destinations in Western Canada.

While talking about the promotions, Executive Director of the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, Pam McLeod stated that businesses in Castlegar will profit from tourists, who would be looking to buy groceries and other necessities, while on their way to Whitewater Winter Resort located near Nelson and Red Mountain Resort. The promotional video will be shot early next year in the month of January and would be aired two weeks after its filming is complete.

Apart from the video, smartphone applications for iPhone, BlackBerry and phones based on Android operating system would have all the necessary details regarding businesses, attractions and other events, which would take place. Apart from such information, trekking trails will also be highlighted in the application.

SnowSeekers have come out in confidence for the application by saying that tourists on an average check such applications 20 times on an average, during their holidays.
