BBC iPlayer now available on BlackBerry

BlackBerry owners in Britain will now be able to enjoy the very popular iPlayer on their devices as the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) has finally released the iPlayer App for the RIM's handsets.

The free app will work with the BlackBerry Storm 2, BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Torch 9800 handsets. However, it has been launched for users in Britain only.

The BlackBerry users can download the app for free, from the Blackberry App World for catching up on Eastenders as well as for listening to radio programs from the past seven days.

The app demands a 3G or Wi-Fi connection to run. But, subscribers to 3UK or Vodafone UK can take advantage of their 3G speeds as 3UK and Vodafone are the only two networks that allow the connections to be used.

The BBC iPlayer is already available on the Apple iPhone, the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Mac and Linux OS.
