Shazam updates its music discovery apps

World's leading mobile discovery provider Shazam has launched significant feature updates on the App Store, incorporating its popular iPhone and iPod touch app with iOS4 multitasking and much more.

Shazam’s popular iPhone and iPod touch app allows users to listen to tracks that they do not know the name of and search a database to offer an artist, album or song title,

Now, Shazam and Shazam Encore 3.0 upgrade let users tagging songs from start-up and capturing the tail end of a song. In addition, user can keep the app open while making apps because it now supports multitasking.

Shazam has optimized its apps for both iOS 4 and the iPhone 4 for allowing them to support fast-app switching and feature HD graphics.

Speaking on the topic, Shazam CEO Andrew Fisher said, “Whether it is Shazam’s free, premium or (RED) version, we have made a significant investment to provide the most intuitive, interactive and immersive discovery experience yet.”

Mr. Fisher also claimed that more than 20 million music lovers are already enjoying Shazam on the iPhone and iPod touch.

Shazam app is can be had from the App Store for free, while Shazam Encore is available for $5. The free version is limited to a maximum of five tags per month, while the paid Encore version provides unlimited music tagging.
