A Zynga's spokeswoman has confirmed on Friday that former CEO of MySpace and an Executive of Facebook has been appointed by Zynga Game Network Inc. as executive vice president of business operations.
AllThingsD website had previously reported that Van Natta, who departed MySpace in February, had associations with Zynga.
Zynga has provided prominent games such as "FarmVille" and "Mafia Wars" on the social networking site Facebook.
Van Natta, who will also join San Francisco-headquartered developer's board of directors, has been given the task of supervising the Company's revenue strategy, international expansion, brand and corporate development.
Zynga said that Van Natta has served the Company as an advisor. Before joining MySpace, Van Natta also worked with the rival site Facebook and both the social networks have good terms with Zynga, which attracts almost 215 million users per month on Facebook.
During his three years at Facebook, he worked as operating officer and revenue officer until early 2008. Zynga has brought Van Natta after accomplishing major deals, including its new Zynga Japan joint venture with Softbank, its recent raising of $150 million from Japan's Softbank and several other acquisitions.
It has also been reported that the social gaming studio has also received between $100 million to $200 million from Google.
